Bad Boys: Ride or Die
I finally got around to seeing the fourth Bad Boys movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, and I really wish I had seen it sooner. I was not overly excited to see this given how bad Bad Boys for Life was, but I am very happy that I put my feelings about the 3rd film aside and decided to watch this anyways because this movie is great!
Not long after his death, criminal kingpin McGrath links Captain Howard to drug trafficking crimes across the city. In order to clear Captain Howard's name, Mike and Marcus must unite and complete a dangerous mission that'll test them (almost) to their limits. Ride or Die was way better than I anticipated thanks to screen writers Chris Bremner and Will Beall who created an engaging story that hits the ground running and directing duo Adil and Bilall who put together an absolute banger of a summer action flick. There are a couple of fun cameos mixed in including DJ Khaled and Tiffany Haddish and a clever use of camera angles which just adds to the enjoyment of watching this movie. What I loved most about this movie was that they went back to their roots and focused on what made the first two films in the franchise so great; classically evil but really cool bad guy mixed with the hilarious and badass antics of Mike and Marcus.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die reminded me of Will Smith from back in the day when he was making his classics such as Men in Black, I, Robot, and I am Legend. I think that this was a really good movie for him to start regaining his fan base again after all the drama that happened a few years ago. Martin Lawrence was brilliant as Marcus as he always is, and I wish he was in more things because he is a delight to watch on screen. This movie is a great conclusion (?) to the franchise and I highly recommend checking it out on Netflix. When you watch it, be sure to wait until the credits are done rolling for an after-credit scene that you won't want to miss!
Thank you for reading!
