Mafia Mamma

Mafia Mamma starring Toni Collette and directed by Catherine Hardwicke is currently streaming on Paramount+. The movie centers around Kristin, an average everyday American mom, who suddenly finds herself in Italy and the new mob boss for the Balbano crime family. As you can expect, it is a bit of an adjustment for her which leads to many funny hijinks mixed with some mafia violence.

This was not a great movie, but I did not hate it. It had a fair number of funny moments, and I loved the relationship between Kristin and her two bodyguards Aldo and Dante. Sometimes a silly movie with a ridiculous premise works and makes the movie so ridiculous that it works. Unfortunately, Mafia Mamma had no such luck. So, in conclusion, this is not a good movie, but I had a good time watching it. If you are looking for a fun yet completely forgettable movie, I suggest giving this a watch.
