Woman of the Hour
On October 18th, Woman of the Hour released on Netflix. This true crime period drama chronicles the story of Sheryl Bradshaw and her brush with the infamous "Dating Game Killer", Rodney Alcala. Anna Kendrick stars as Sheryl and also serves as the director of this film. The film also features Daniel Zovatto as Alcala and Tony Hale as Ed, the host of The Dating Game.
Overall, this movie was pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. It was well acted and written, and I felt that Kendrick did a good job behind the camera. The 70s style hairdressing and costume design was on point, and I thought that the sets were very well created. In truth there is nothing really wrong with this movie. It is a captivating and intriguing true story that, from what I researched, is for the most part accurate.
There is nothing about this movie that stands out against any other film and I would go as far as saying that it is a completely forgettable film. However, it is a great directorial debut by Anna Kendrick, and I recommend checking this movie out on Netflix.
Thanks for reading!
