Musica: Movie Review

On April 4th Musica, a musical love story about a struggling creative living with synesthesia, dropped to streaming on Amazon Prime. Rudy Mancuso stars as himself, along with Camila Mendes and Mancuso's real life mother Maria Mancuso, who also plays herself. In addition to starring in this feature, Rudy Mancuso also serves as director and co-writer. For those of you who are unaware (like I was), synesthesia is a "fancy name for when you experience one of your senses through another." An example would be hearing the name "David" and seeing the color green.

This movie is so cool, and I wish that the hype was greater for it. Through this film, we are able to see the world through Rudy's eyes and it is truly magical, although I am sure it can get annoying for him at times. The choreography is wonderful and the beats in this movie are downright catchy. This movie is not only visually and auditorily pleasing, but it is also a very good story and very well acted. Camila Mendes shines (like she normally does) and both Mancusos delivered excellent performances.

This movie was an hour and a half of pure entertainment. I absolutely loved it and I hope you check it out and enjoy it too!

Thanks for reading!
