Ricky Stanicky: Movie Review

Hey there,

My wife and I recently watched the new comedy Ricky Stanicky directed by Peter Farrelly who is responsible for Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, and Fever Pitch just to name a few. The movie stars Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler as lifelong friends who create a fictional best friend named Ricky Stanicky to help get them out of trouble. This plan worked for years......until it didn't, and the trio found themselves needing to turn their fake friend into a real friend. This is when Rod Rimestead, the failed actor turned jizz-jam performer (yes you read that correctly), comes into their life and agrees to be a real-life Ricky Stanicky.

If you are looking for a smart comedy with classy jokes, then this is completely and unequivocally NOT the movie for you. Now, if you like crude jokes and raunchy humor, then I think I found the movie for you. John Cena is amazing as Rimestead and Efron continues to show that he can do any genre.

Admittedly, the funniest parts of the movie are towards the beginning. As the films moves along, it gets less funny and more dumb. All in all, I enjoyed Ricky Stanicky and recommend it.
