Oscars: 2 Movies that got wrongfully snubbed

Hi there,

On March 10th at 7PM EST, the 96th Annual Academy Awards will air on ABC and there will be some movies that will not be celebrated. Besides some films who were 100% snubbed, others were robbed of individual performances that need to be celebrated. Such as Greta Gerwig who is nominated for Best Picture for Barbie, but is not nominated for Best Director for that exact same film. Or Margot Robbie who is not being celebrated for playing the titular character in Barbie, despite being nominated for a BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Screen Actor's Guild Award. There are others that I felt should have been considered for nominations as well, notably The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem for Best Animated Film. Instead, Nimona and Robot Dreams receive nods; two movies that no one has ever heard of before rather than the two critically acclaimed and box office smash hits. Anyways, here are the two films that I feel have been criminally wrongfully snubbed form the Oscars:

1. Saltburn

Saltburn is a unique dark comedy about a young man who befriends a rich classmate and is invited to spend the summer at his family's Saltburn estate. It starred Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, and Rosamund Pike. It was also written and directed by Emerald Fennell. This movie pushed the limits of story telling and delivered a raw experience that left you felling all sorts of different types of feelings. This film received 5 BAFTA nominations, 2 Golden Globe nominations, and 0 Oscar nominations. Oscars that I feel this film should have been nominated for are: Best Actor: Barry Keoghan, Best Supporting Actress: Rosamund Pike, Best Director: Emerald Fennell, Best Original Screenplay: Emerald Fennell, and Best Picture: Emerald Fennell, Josey McNamara, Margot Robbie.

2. All of Us Strangers

This movie follows Adam, a man living alone in London, as he navigates dealing with the grief of losing his parents at a young age and his new relationship with his downstairs neighbor. This movie is so beautifully acted and written and leaves you emotional with tears streaming down your face. It received 6 BAFTA nominations, 1 Golden Globe nomination, and 0 Oscar nominations. Oscars that I feel this film should have been nominated for are: Best Actor: Andrew Scott, Best Supporting Actress: Claire Foy, Best Adapted Screenplay: Andrew Haigh.

Thank you for reading and please comment on whether or not you agree with my opinion.

Thanks!
