Twisters

Twisters, the stand-alone sequel to 1996's disaster movie Twister, is now playing in theaters. The movie stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate who is lured back into the world of tornado chasing by an old friend and finds an unexpected partner in self-proclaimed "tornado wrangler" Tyler, played by Glenn Powell. The film also features Anthony Ramos and Maura Tierney and was directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

I went into this movie thinking that I would not like it. I loved Twister and felt that there was no need for a sequel. I am happy to say that I was wrong, and I loved everything about this movie! The story hits the ground running right from the very first scene and it never slows down. Screenwriter Mark L. Smith did a wonderful job of telling an exciting story about storm chasing but also showing the dangers and the absolute destruction that tornados cause thus proving that you can teach a lesson while also entertaining. I would also be remiss if I did not mention the superb acting performances by Daisy Edgar Jones and Glenn Powell who seems to have brilliant chemistry with whomever he costars with.

This movie blew my expectations out of the water, and I absolutely loved every second of it. I highly recommend checking this one out in theaters while you still can. The special effects will just hit different if you watch it on the big screen.

Thanks for reading!
