My Spy: Eternal City

My Spy: Eternal City, the sequel to 2020's buddy comedy starring Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman My Spy, is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video. This story reunites JJ and Sophie 4 years after the events of My Spy, and we see that their relationship has changed a bit. JJ is trying to fit into his new role as stepdad and Sophie is not exactly receptive to it. The two travel to Italy together when Sophie's choir group is granted the opportunity to perform in the Vatican and they are met with some unexpected bad guys.

This is a fun family movie that is lighthearted and very funny. I appreciate it when a movie does like take itself too seriously and just focuses on the entertainment aspect and this film is a prime example of doing just that. The comedic genius from Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong was on full display and I absolutely loved the chemistry between Bautista and Coleman. There was only one hiccup and that was some poor editing and awful green screen effects. Luckily, it was only noticeable in one scene, so I won't hold it against them.

My Spy: Eternal City is a great family summer movie and I recommend checking it out on Prime video. If you have not seen the first film in the franchise, My Spy, I recommend checking that one out first (also streaming on Prime).

Thank you for reading!
