Abigail

Movies can sometimes be too complicated and focus too much on character building or setting the tone. This is not the case with the horror film Abigail that recently started streaming on Peacock after a somewhat decent run in theaters. This movie focuses on a group of criminals for hire who think that their job is just to babysit the kidnapped daughter of some unknown rich man but in reality, they realize that who they thought was just an innocent sweet little girl is actually a blood thirsty ballerina vampire!

I found this movie to be surprisingly good. When I saw the trailer for the film, I thought it was going to be downright stupid. But some of my friends saw it in theaters and recommended it to me so I decided to give it a shot and I am glad I did.  I loved the overall theme of not judging a book by its cover, and I felt that the story was well executed. The acting was very good, especially by Alisha Weir who plays Abigail. The violence mixed with the intricacies of the ballet was very cool and I really enjoyed twist. This movie just goes to show that you do not need an overly complicated concept *cough* Kinds of Kindness *cough* in order to make an enjoyable movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed Abigail and recommend checking it out on Peacock.

Thanks for reading!
